In what cases is construction design needed in Serbia and Montenegro?

According to the Law on Design and Construction, in most cases it is impossible to do without an approved project. The absence of a project threatens a demolition order, a fine or a lengthy legal process for legalization. Also, the absence of a project will not allow you to register the house and get the opportunity to apply for a temporary residence permit and permanent residence permit based on the ownership of this property. Therefore, the design issue must be taken care of in advance.

An approved project is NOT required in the following cases:

current repairs of a house or apartment without changing the appearance and structures;
construction of auxiliary facilities - canopies up to 20 m², pools up to 25 m², depth up to 1.2 m;
installation of garden fireplaces up to 2 m² in area and up to 3 m in height;
installation of fences made of mesh or wood;
installation of electrical wiring cables;
installation of notice boards up to 6 m² in area, as well as some other objects and works in accordance with the Law on Design and Construction

In all other cases, the presence of a project is mandatory

In Serbia and Montenegro, a construction project must be signed by a licensed architect, uploaded to the state information system and approved by the municipality (opština). For this purpose, when designing, I cooperate with proven licensed architects or local designers from the opština in which the site is located, as suggested by the customer

Video call and clarification of tasks

Technical specifications for design

We conclude an agreement, determine visual solutions, planning solutions, stylistic examples and references, and consolidate these solutions in the technical specifications

We agree with you on the layout of the object, which will be detailed at the next stage

Visualization and design documentation

Creation of design documentation: specifications and layout solution with furniture. For interior design service - visualization of each room taking into account previously selected interior elements and finishing materials

Building permit

If necessary - assistance in obtaining a building permit from the municipality together with a licensed architect

Author's supervision
